Dwi Suseno

Mr Dwi Suseno is the Executive Director and Group CEO of Golden Energy and Resources Limited (GEAR) an international mining and resources company. Mr Suseno is responsible for managing operations for GEAR, including mining, logistics and coal marketing, as well as leading the strategic initiatives and expansions.

Mr Suseno began his career in Australia, where he was raised and educated, and he has over 26 years of experience in management, commercial and finance in mining resources as well as oil and gas related industries in both Australia and internationally. Mr Suseno was previously an Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of Straits Corporation Group, which was then part of the SGX-listed coal mining company Straits Asia Resources Limited. Mr Suseno has previously worked with Baker Hughes Inc. (Fortune 500 NYSE listed oilfield services company), Arthur Andersen Australia and Ernst & Young LLP.

Mr Suseno is a Certified Public Accountant in both Australia and Singapore, graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Western Australia, Graduate Diploma in Tax from the University of Melbourne’s Law Masters program, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Business from Curtin University. He also holds an executive Masters in Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management, and  Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Marcelo Matos

Marcelo has over 25 years of experience in the mining sector in a number of operations, projects, business development, marketing and sales, strategy and planning roles in Australia,  China, Singapore, Brazil and spent many years involved with large developments in Mozambique as well.

Having started with Stanmore Resources initially as a Non-Executive Director in late 2019, he took the helm as CEO in August 2020 and led the latest acquisition and integration of the BMC assets and the transformation of Stanmore into a large metallurgical coal producer. Prior to that and amongst other roles Mr Matos worked for Vale for close to 20 years in various senior roles, starting in iron ore and moving into coal including as its Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer as well as their Managing Director in Australia. 

Marcelo holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and an Executive MBA from IBMEC Business School.

Jimmy Lim

Mr Jimmy Lim has 20 years of experience in finance and investment management in the metals and mining sector, with extensive industry relationships in Australia and globally. Mr Lim started his career in Perth with Ernst & Young in Tax, serving natural resources and infrastructure companies of all sizes before moving into Corporate Finance with Ernst & Young and then KPMG where he continued advising clients in the natural resources sector. From there, Mr Lim then went on to work for JP Morgan in Melbourne where he worked on assignments advising and financing some of the largest companies in the world before moving to Hong Kong with Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, where he was responsible for coverage of Metals and Mining in Asia excluding China.

Mr Lim is a Fellow of Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA) and holds an MBA and degrees in Engineering and Science from the University of Western Australia.

Richard Majlinder

Caroline Chan

Ms Chan has more than 20 years of experience in commercial and investment banking, and corporate commercial roles. Most recently, Ms Chan was Head of Institutional Banking, Western Australia & South Australia for Westpac Banking Corporation. Prior to this, she spent 16 years in Sydney in various roles including Chief Operating Officer of Corporate & Institutional Banking at Westpac Institutional Bank. Before joining Westpac, Ms Chan gained transaction and commercial experience through roles in M&A at Deutsche Bank, acquisition finance at NM Rothschild, and at Singtel Optus and Perth Airport.

Ms Chan is currently on the Board of the Australia-ASEAN Council. She was a Board member of Loreto Nedlands, and Chair of its Finance Committee from 2016-2021. Ms Chan is a WA Business News ‘40 under 40’ award winner, and is a passionate advocate for inclusion and diversity initiatives. She holds Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) degrees from the University of Western Australia, a postgraduate Diploma in Applied Finance & Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia, and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Matt Latimore

Mr Latimore is Chairman and President of M Resources, a rapidly growing and agile company involved in investment, marketing, and trading of metallurgical coal. M Resources also operates metallurgical coal mines in Queensland, Australia.

Prior to establishing M Resources, Mr Latimore held the position of General Manager for Sales and Marketing at Wesfarmers’ Curragh coal mine. In this role, Mr Latimore was responsible for global sales to steel mills and domestic and international power utilities. Mr Latimore was also a director of Curragh Coal Sales Pty Ltd.

Mr Latimore has held various positions with Mitsui & Co (Australia) Pty Ltd in Brisbane, Sydney and Tokyo, working on joint ventures including Atlantic Richfield and BHP Mitsui Coal.

Mr Latimore has a Master of Business Administration (Executive) from the Australian Graduate School of Management, and a Bachelor of International Business from Griffith University. He is a Graduate of the Australian Company Directors Course and graduated from the Columbia Senior Executive Program in New York in 2011.

Brett Garland

Mr Garland served from 2005 until 2015 as a member of the Queensland Ministerial Advisory Committee for the Queensland Coal Mining Safety & Health Act. He is currently Director of the Mining Industry Safety & Health Centre, part of the Sustainable Mining Institute at the University of Queensland. He is also Chairman of the Queensland Mines Rescue Board.

Mr Garland holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) from the University of Wollongong and an Executive Master of Business Administration from the Queensland University of Technology. He also holds qualifications as a Certified Coal Mine Manager in NSW & Queensland, and is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Chartered Professional with the AusIMM.

Mr Shane Young has over 21 years of experience in accounting, financial planning and analysis, commercial, corporate finance, treasury, corporate development, and governance roles in Australia, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and the United States. Mr Young has worked for major global organisations including KPMG, Shell and Peabody, and held various senior roles in the mining industry over several years, most recently as General Manager Finance at PanAust Limited.

Mr Young is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) degree from Monash University. He is a Member of the Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand, a Member of Australia Corporate Treasury Association (Certified Finance and Treasury Professional), and a graduate of AICD.

Mr Pires is a mining engineer with a Master of Business Administration from the University of New South Wales. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the mining industry, having enjoyed a long career with Vale and Anglo American in various roles including global exploration, business development, strategy, integrated planning, operations and business improvement.

His recent roles include General Manager Operations for a 4Mta thermal coal open cut contracted operation in Colombia and General Manager Integrated Planning (mine, rail and port) for a large met coal project in Mozambique. In Australia, he led the implementation of the Anglo American Operating Model with a business improvement and operational excellence focus.

Mr Pires brings a wealth of global experience in both open cut and underground coal mining which will assist Stanmore Resources in further improving its operating practices, and creating a low-cost, driven organisation with a strong performance focus, and transparent systems and processes.

Damian Zagel

General Manager, Growth and Sustainability

Mr Zagel has more than 22 years’ experience in the underground and open-cut mining industries in Queensland, New South Wales and Canada.

Prior to joining Stanmore Resources, Mr Zagel was the Group Manager of Strategy and Planning at Thiess where he provided leadership to the global strategy and planning function, including navigating the global mandate of reduced emissions and growing ESG sentiment to support the global energy transition. He was a key leader in Theiss’ growth aspirations into Canada including managing the establishment and growth of the business.

Mr Zagel previously worked with Vale Australia as Head of Strategy and Business Development. He was instrumental in setting the strategic direction of the global coal business, leading the M+A function through several transactions and the annual business planning process. He has also led the Vale Corporate Technical Services Team including mine engineering, planning, geology and business improvement.

Prior to this, Mr Zagel held leadership positions with Sherritt Coal, Mastermyne and Rio Tinto, working in technical, operational and commercial roles.

Mr Zagel holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining (Honours) from the University of Queensland.

Jason Greig

Mr Greig is a skilled mining professional with more than 15 years’ industry experience in leadership roles across Australia and New Zealand. His track record of performance in safety, production, leadership and developing outstanding culture, coupled with his strong technical mining and commercial skills, have set the foundation for delivering exceptional operational outcomes throughout his career.

As General Manager Operations at Stanmore’s South Walker Creek Mine, Mr Greig leads a team of more than 900 employees and contractors, and is responsible for all aspects of production, maintenance, mine planning, coal processing, HSE and finance.

Prior to joining Stanmore, Mr Greig previously worked with large organisations including BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA), Golding Contractors, Solid Energy and Deloitte in variety of leadership positions across many successful open-cut mining operations. Most recently, he led the team at the Isaac Plains Coal Mine as Mining Project Manager & Site Senior Executive with Golding.

Mr Greig is a Chartered Accountant and Site Senior Executive. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Honours (First Class) from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand and a Diploma of Surface Operations Management.

Lars Kuhlcke

General Manager Operations — Poitrel Mine

Mr Kuhlcke has more than 25 years’ multi-disciplinary experience in both Australia and South Africa, including 12 years’ experience in the open-cut mining industry in Queensland.  During this period, he has held a number of operational and leadership roles, including roles at Isaac plains, South Walker Creek and Poitrel Mines.  Prior to joining Stanmore Resources, Mr Kuhlcke held leadership positions with BHP Mitsui Coal and John Holland Mining.

Mr Kuhlcke is passionate about driving efficient operations through the development of high-performing teams and has experience in the leadership of Mine Planning, Engineering and Maintenance personnel.

As General Manager Operations at Stanmore’s Poitrel Mine, Mr Kuhlcke leads a team of employees and contractors and is responsible for the overall health and safety, production, maintenance, mine planning, coal processing and finance.

Mr Kuhlcke holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from the University of Cape Town and is a Site Senior Executive.

Luiz Sapucaia

Mr Sapucaia has more than 20 years’ experience in supply and logistics in the mining, and oil and gas industries across Australia, Africa and Brazil. He brings extensive experience to his current role as General Manager Supply, having led high-performing teams and managed cross-functional operations globally.

Throughout his career, Mr Sapucaia has held various leadership positions with Origin Energy, South32 and Vale, where he led transformation and organisational restructure projects. His experience also extends to global operational and corporate roles in procurement, category management, logistics, working capital management, business performance and commercial.

Mr Sapucaia’s previous commercial experience, in addition to his work on early-stage port and rail projects in Queensland and New South Wales, will assist Stanmore Resources integrate new sites and further improve operational costs, while developing long-term strategies through his solid system and process knowledge.

Mr Sapucaia is an electrical engineer and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from Instituto Brasileiro de Mercado de Capitais (IBMEC), and a Bachelor of Electrical and Production Engineering from the University of Industrial Engineering in Brazil.
